Part-time adventure buddy, full-time love bug!

Meet Lena (formerly Dee Dee), a sweet, gentle, and playful 2-year-old mixed-breed girl who weighs approximately 45 pounds and has a whole lot of love to give!

Lena didn’t have the easiest start in life. She’s been through more than any dog should have to experience, but what’s remarkable about her is that she’s never lost her gentleness, her willingness to trust, or her sunny disposition toward people and dogs alike. Despite her difficult beginning, Lena approaches the world with an open heart.

Lena is a social butterfly who loves people of all ages, including children, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She’s friendly with strangers and is happiest when she’s spending time with her favorite humans or canine companions.

Lena has two favorite modes: playtime and cuddle time! She absolutely loves running and romping with other pups, playing with her toys, and exploring the great outdoors. She’s also perfectly happy curling up beside you for a good TV binge-watching session.

When she’s outside, Lena loves lounging in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and keeping a very watchful eye on the neighborhood squirrels.

Lena is a smart cookie! She’s currently attending training classes and has learned sit, come, and loose-leash walking. She’s continuing to work on lying down and perfecting her potty-training skills. She’s a bright girl who would love a family committed to continuing her training with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.

Lena is accustomed to both a crate and a playpen, although she’d much rather be beside her people or enjoying the outdoors.

Lena’s dream home would include a securely fenced backyard where she can stretch her legs, lounge in the grass, and enjoy the fresh air. Ideally, she’d also have a friendly, playful canine sibling! Lena absolutely lights up around other dogs, and having a compatible playmate would give her opportunities for the social interaction and exercise she loves. An active, loving family who enjoys spending time with their dog and can provide attention, enrichment, and continued training would be a wonderful match.

Lena is a great combination of playful enthusiasm and gentle affection. She’s smart, funny, loving, and full of personality. Whether she’s playing with her favorite toys, making a new friend, keeping tabs on the local squirrel population, or snuggling up for another episode of your favorite show, she has a way of making everyday moments a little more joyful.
